Free or Pro — which plan do you actually need?
The free plan is a real plan, not a trial. Stay on it until you hit a limit that costs you something. Move to Pro when you outgrow the member or customer limits, or need integrations.

Start on Free. Move to Pro when you hit a limit that is actually costing you something — usually the number of colleagues who need access, or the number of customers you are invoicing.
That is the honest answer, and it is deliberately not the one that maximises our revenue. An account that upgrades before it needs to is an account that churns three months later, having concluded the product was not worth it. We would rather you upgraded late.
What is on the free plan?
Invoicing. All of it — raising invoices, taking card payments through your own gateway, credit notes, refunds, and a portal for your customers to pay in. Not a crippled version with a watermark, and not a countdown.
What Free limits is scale: how many colleagues can have access, and how many customers you can hold. Those limits are real, and they are sized for a genuinely small operation rather than for a demo.
You can see the current figures on the pricing page, which reads them from the same catalogue that bills you — so what it quotes is what you would be charged.
When should you move to Pro?
There are three honest triggers.
You have run out of member seats. The commonest one. A second person needs to raise invoices, or a bookkeeper needs access, and there is no seat. This is a real cost the day it happens: the workaround is sharing a login, which is worse than paying us.
You have run out of customer records. If you are invoicing more customers than Free holds, you are past the size Free was drawn for.
You need the integrations. If you are re-keying invoices into your accounting system by hand, the time that takes has a number attached, and it is usually larger than the subscription.
When should you not move to Pro?
Because you might need it later. You can upgrade the day you do, and nothing is lost by waiting.
Because Free feels like it must be missing something. It is not. The limits are the product difference; the invoicing is the same invoicing.
To get a feature you would use once. If you need something for a single quarter-end, upgrade for the month and go back down.
What about the trial?
Pro has a 14-day trial that does not ask for a card. That last part is the point: a trial that takes a card is a subscription with a cancellation deadline, and we would rather you tried the thing and decided.
If the trial lapses you drop back to Free with your data intact. You do not lose invoices, customers or history — you lose access to what Pro added.
What about Enterprise?
Enterprise exists for organisations whose requirements are not really about limits — procurement, security review, specific contractual terms. If you are wondering whether you need it, you almost certainly do not; the businesses that do already know, because their legal team has told them.
The uncomfortable question: what if neither fits?
Then tell us. The plan boundaries are our guess at where the natural break points are, and guesses are wrong in specific ways we only find out about when someone explains their situation. We have moved a limit more than once because the person on the other end of an email was obviously right.
Compare the plans in detail, or start on Free and find out.

Why we let you bring your own payment gateway
Most invoicing tools take your customers' payments into their own account and pay you later. We don't hold your money at all — you connect your own gateway and settle directly. Here is the reasoning, and the trade-off.
Chasing late payments — a practical playbook
Late payment is usually a friction problem, not a willingness problem. Invoice immediately, send a reminder before the due date, make paying one click, and escalate on a fixed schedule rather than on how you feel.
